Lady Gaga skyrockets in sales following Super Bowl performance

According to Nielsen Music, it was reported that sales for the “Born This Way” singer increased over 1,000 percent on Super Bowl Sunday.

Gaga’s Super Bowl performance in the half-time show earned a favorable review from Digital Journal. It consisted of such songs as “Poker Face,” “Bad Romance,” “Telephone,” “Just Dance” and a piano-driven version of “Million Reasons.” This year, Nielsen reported that approximately 111.3 million people viewed the intense football game.

This sales numbers translates into 150,000 digital albums and songs that were sold while the Atlanta Falcons and New England Patriots battled it out in Houston, Texas, during this year’s Super Bowl. This amounts to more digital units sold for Gaga than the previous week altogether; moreover, there are five Lady Gaga tunes in the Top 10 on iTunes, which include her ballad “Million Reasons” in the top spot.

Following her Super Bowl performance, Lady Gaga announced that she will be embarking on a world tour. To learn more about Lady Gaga and her tour dates, check out her official website.
