Actor Lachlan Quarmby chatted about starring in “Providence Falls” on Hallmark.

This three-part special adaptation is based on the Jude Deveraux and Tara Sheets book series. Quarmby stars opposite Katie Stevens and Evan Roderick.

The synopsis of “Providence Falls” is: Detectives Cora (Katie Stevens) and Liam (Lachlan Quarmby) must solve a murder, all while Liam pushes Cora toward DA Finn Walsh (Evan Roderick), her fated match, in order to change their destinies, despite Liam’s hidden love for Cora.

Experience making ‘Providence Falls’

On being a part of “Providence Falls,” he remarked, “It was a joy; it was probably one of the best jobs I’ve ever had.”

“It was great… any time you get to do multiple genres and multiple things within one project with a great group of people that ticks off all the boxes you can possibly hope for as an actor. We got to do a period piece, procedural, time travel, fantasy and romance,” he explained.

“We are new to Hallmark but we are happy to be here,” he added.

Playing Liam in ‘Providence Falls’

On playing his character Liam, Quarmby remarked, “I liked doing the Irish accent; that was fun! There is something about doing an Irish accent that just makes you away with being a little bit more cheeky and playful.”

“Being Liam was fun in general, but getting to dive into that world with an Irish accent was awesome. I love Ireland now,” he exclaimed.

Working with Evan Roderick

On working with Evan Roderick, Quarmby stated, “Evan is great. Character-wise, I was supposed to not like him but that’s hard to do because he is so nice, cool and handsome.”

Lessons learned from this screenplay

On the lessons learned from this screenplay, he reflected, “Liam taught me a bit more about going for what you want unrelentlessly.”

“Liam had his hands tied behind his back, but he was still trying anyway, and he was even fighting,” he acknowledged.

Closing thoughts on ‘Providence Falls’

For fans and viewers, Quarmby expressed, “I want fans and viewers to get enjoyment out of it, first and foremost. I would love for them to like it. I want them to have a conversation about destiny.”

“I hope they get caught up in the romance, the characters, the music and the period piece. There is so much in there for everything,” he concluded.
