Kristin Chenoweth sings Game of Thrones theme during a show

Who would have guessed that the Glee star was such a big fan of the popular Emmy award-winning HBO series? Well, the Tony Award winner actress amazed her audience as well as the vast GOT fan base by spicing up the series’ theme with her powerful opera voice. Her host Jimmy Kimmel even helped the diva go all the way through by providing her a razor-sharp Valyrian steel sword (ok, probably it was just plastic). The background screen went (literally) on fire while Chenoweth hyped up the popular theme with her own high notes, showing up that she can very well be the next “mother of dragons” we have been expecting for six seasons. Her performance was so epic that someone in the audience swore that he saw a dragon swoop down to pick her up (people like to exaggerate).

Back in June, the Broadway star already gave us a hint of her flaming passion (pun intended) for the show by tweeting a video she aptly named “Ready for @gameofthrones.” In the video, which got more than one thousand retweets, she sings ‘GOT’ theme to warm up her voice in anticipation of the newest episode. Chenoweth is famous for her television roles in The West Wing and Pushing Daisies, for which she won an Emmy Award in 2009. She reached the celebrity status in 1999 when she won a Tony Award for her Broadway performance as Sally Brown in You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown. The actress-singer will be voicing a new character in the upcoming animated My Little Pony movie, which is expected to be released in October 2017.

In 2015 and 2016, Game of Thrones won a record-breaking 12 Primetime Emmy Awards for two years in a row, utterly dominating over all competition. Its recent breath-taking sixth season finale aired on June 26, 2016, and set a new record on its own by scoring an impressive 8.9 million viewers. GOT’s seventh season has been scheduled in mid-2017 and will include just seven episodes instead of the usual ten. The show will end with its eighth season in 2018.
