Kristen Stewart has a major reason to be proud. She garnered a 2022 Academy Award nomination for her powerful acting performance as Princess Diana in “Spencer.”

Stewart is nominated for the “Best Actress” Oscar alongside such actresses as Jessica Chaston in “The Eyes of Tammy Faye,” Olivia Colman in “The Lost Daughter,” Penelope Cruz in “Parallel Mothers,” and Nicole Kidman in “Being the Ricardos.”

“Spencer” was written by Steven Knight and directed by Pablo Larraín. The film is set in December of 1991, at a time when the marriage of Princess Diana (Kristen Stewart) and Prince Charles (Jack Farthing) has long since grown cold and old.

Though rumors of affairs and a divorce abound, peace is ordained for the Christmas festivities at Sandringham Estate. There’s eating and drinking, shooting and hunting. Diana knows the game but this year, things will be a whole lot different.

“Spencer” earned a glowing review from Digital Journal, where it was hailed as a “superb and well-crafted film,” and rightfully so.

Tune in on March 27, 2022, to see if Kristen Stewart will walk away with the “Best Actress” Award for “Spencer.”
