The acclaimed actor, best known for his work on the Fox drama series 24, will bring his rich, soulful vocals and guitar licks to Huntington. He will be promoting his debut studio album, Down In a Hole, which will be released this summer.
Sutherland is embarking on his debut tour as a musician, where he will be playing in 26 venues throughout the country. His tour kicks off on April 14. On May 25, he will be performing at The Paramount on Long Island.
In 2002, a small record label, Ironworks, was created by Sutherland and his music partner, Judge Cole. Some of the artists on that roster included Rocco DeLuca and the Burden, HoneyHoney and Billy Boy On Poison. In 2009, he left the label and moved on to other ventures.
In early 2015, Sutherland played Cole two of the songs that he had written as demos for other artists. Eventually, Cole suggested that they make an album together, since the songs continued to multiply, and the end result was Sutherland’s forthcoming breakthrough album.
The actor noted that all of these songs were pulled from his own personal experiences. “There is something very satisfying about being able to look back on my own life, good times and bad, and express those sentiments in music,” he said in a press statement, prior to noting that he is looking forward to play these songs in front of a live audience.
