Kenny Chesney breaks Pink Floyd’s tickets record in Kansas City

As a result, the traffic on I-70 was backed up for over an hour going both directions. When the tickets were counted, Chesney accumulated 57,368 attendees, thus smashing Pink Floyd’s 1994 record of 56,134 attendees. This marked Chesney’s fourth headlining concert at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City.

“I had no idea about the number when we took the stage,” Chesney remarked in a press release, prior to praising Pink Floyd for being “rock icons,” as well as every “kid’s high school experience.” He went on to praise the audience for being “so loud” to the point where he could barely hear the music, and described them as “electric.” “It felt like being at the bottom of a mountain, and an avalanche just kept rolling over you. The energy, the heart, the passion had that much force and it didn’t let up, not once all night,” he explained in a press statement.

On August 15, Chesney will be bringing “The Big Revival 2015 tour” at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. He will be sharing the stage with reigning Academy of Country Music (ACM) “Male Vocalist of the Year” Jason Aldean, as well as such country artists as Brantley Gilbert, Cole Swindell and rising country band Old Dominion.
