Actress Katie Stevens spoke about starring in “Providence Falls” on Hallmark.

This three-part adaptation is based on the Jude Deveraux and Tara Sheets book series.

The synopsis is: Detectives Cora (Katie Stevens) and Liam (Lachlan Quarmby) must solve a murder, all while Liam pushes Cora toward DA Finn Walsh (Evan Roderick), her fated match, in order to change their destinies, despite Liam’s hidden love for Cora.

Playing Cora in ‘Providence Falls’

On playing Cora, Stevens remarked, “I liked getting to play two different time periods of my character.”

“I was able to portray the 1844, more sheltered and more reserved version of Cora with a totally different wardrobe, and then, I got to play a modern-day detective and cool girl Cora,” she elaborated.

“Also, I was able to find a way to weave it in where they are still the same person at their core, so it was a fun challenge to be able to do that,” Stevens added.

Stevens on the cinematography of ‘Providence Falls’

On the cinematography of “Providence Falls,” she stated, “Our directors and our DP Justin Sebastian, did such a fabulous job. It’s gorgeous. I hope people enjoy watching it, even just visually.”

Working with Evan Roderick

On working with Evan Roderick, Stevens said, “I love him so much.”

“I was the lucky actress where I get to play in a world where I have two men that are equally wonderful as options for me,” she noted.

“Finn and Liam are so different and Lachlan and Evan are very different, and it was fun to play that story with both of them. Evan had me laughing the whole time; I almost broke in every scene that I did with Evan,” she elaborated.

Lessons learned from this screenplay

On the lessons learned from this screenplay, Stevens expressed, “The experience itself doing an Irish accent was very daunting to me, but I think I proved to myself that I can do a good job when presented with a challenge, and it’s not as scary as I think it might be.”
