Judas Priest earns 2018 nomination for Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

The iconic metal group has been eligible for a nod since 1999. The eligible band members include Les Binks, K. K. Downing, Rob Halford, Ian Hill, Dave Holland, Glenn Tipton and Scott Travis.

As indicated by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame website, they are still at the top of their game, after nearly five decades, thanks to their “intense” live shows, as well as their “commitment to a genre” that they helped define.

After multiple Grammy nominations, Judas Priest finally won their first Grammy award for”Best Metal Performance”. “Fifth time is a charm,” front-man Rob Halford said in his Grammy acceptance speech. “This is our fifth nomination. Judas Priest has been making heavy metal for over 35 years around the planet. We love what we do.”

Judas Priest revealed that their 18th studio album, Firepower, will be released in early 2018, which will be accompanied with a North American tour. On March 17, they will be performing at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, Long Island.
