Up-and-coming country artist Josh Ross chatted about his new single “Trouble” and his new music.

On his new single “Trouble,” he said, “It was inspired by a true story. I had been going through a breakup at the time and called that person to tell them I was upset and felt like I was not in a great headspace and wanted her to come back home.”

“My friend Mason had sent me the title/vibe about six months before that happened and once we got into the room it made sense to finally write it,” he added.

Regarding his music and songwriting inspirations, he said, “I just try to be honest lyrically with what is going on in my life. I Feel listeners can hear that in my songs and get to know me through my music.”

On being a singer-songwriter in the digital age, he said, “I love it I think it gives all artists an advantage to share your music with the world.”

What do your plans for the future include? Continue writing and releasing new music. Lots of tour dates that I’m very excited about.

He listed LANY, Bailey Zimmerman, Avery Anna, Justin B, and Halsey as his dream collaboration choices in music.

On his definition of the word success, he said, “For me, it’s about life experiences and great relationships. I think me being able to have both of those things means success.”

For his fans, he concluded about “Trouble,” “I just want the listener to feel like they get to know me through honest lyrics.”
