On his new radio singles, “Singles You Up,” he said, “We are excited to have it out. We have been under the radar for a little while, but the single is out now, and it picked up very, very fast. My co-writer had gotten engaged, and we took that phrase ‘singles you up,’ and we ran with it. It was definitely the work of a weird saying that was said, and we decided to write it.”
Davis is stoked to be signed on MCA Nashville. “That is crazy. I’ve been on there a year now, and it’s kind of crazy and look and see the roster. The roster they have had in the past and even the roster they have now is crazy (with George Strait, Kip Moore and Sam Hunt), to be on that same list of people. I’m big fans of all of them: the whole roster,” he admitted. “It’s really cool. I still have to pinch myself every once in a while.”
Regarding his future plans, he said, “We are still finishing up the first record. We have six songs cut right now, and we’re going to cut another five or fix. We are going to release a record before the end of this year. We are still touring a lot, and playing a lot of shows. We are on a radio tour right now, and we’re doing some festivals and we hope to get on a tour with somebody this fall. That’s the main goal right now.”
He listed Shania Twain, Kelsea Ballerini and Carrie Underwood as his dream female duet choices in the genre. “A Shania duet would be unreal,” he said.
