Instagram and TikTok sensation and country singer-songwriter Jonah Prill chatted with Digital Journal’s Markos Papadatos about his new song “You Remind Me,” and his plans for 2021.
“We have so much new music in the works,” he revealed. “We are doing a lot of co-writes, and we have huge catalogs of new music. We are taking our time to figure out where my style is and where we are going to take my country music career. That’s where we are at right now. I don’t have any release dates yet, but we are waiting to strike. There will be more music later this year. I cannot wait for it.”
“Right now, we are working on a lot of demos,” he said. “I think we will end up with 20 demos. Once these demos get released, it’s ‘go time’,” he exclaimed.
He shared that he is excited to start touring again in 2021 following the “We have shows starting in July,” he said. “Once July hits, I will be touring every weekend and a few weekday nights. I have a big show opening for Dwight Yoakam, that will be so much fun.”
Prill noted that he would love to do a dream duet with rising artist Reyna Roberts, who has the song “Stompin’ Grounds,” and he praised her for being an awesome talent.
On the title of the current chapter of his life, he responded, “to be honest, I am now in the new chapter of adulthood.” “That is exciting and that is fun,” he said.
He listed the freestyle as his personal favorite stroke in swimming and he revealed that the track and field event that he would do if given the chance would be the 400 meter dash.
Regarding his definition of success, Prill said, “Success can be summed up in a few different ways: success for me is to make a fun and enjoyable career long-time with country music and to be able to support a family doing so. I see success as overall happiness. If you love what you are doing, and you can influence others to be happy, and bring emotions in people via music that’s a success for me.”
His song “You Remind Me” is out on Spotify. It garnered a glowing review from Digital Journal.
“‘You Remind Me’ is one of my personal favorite songs,” he said. “It’s about being relatable, and how a breakup can not necessarily be a bad thing and how anything around you can remind you of that person in good ways or bad ways. It is open to interpretation, and hopefully, it will bring back good memories. That’s the point of the song.”
