Joan Jett: A rock goddess gets her Rock and Roll Hall of Fame due

The rock queen opened this year’s Hall of Fame induction ceremony with a three-song mini-concert. She wore a black leather jacket and pants, and her set included her signature tune “Bad Reputation,” and she brought Dave Grohl of The Foo Fighters on stage with her to belt out “Cherry Bomb.” She closed with a cover of Tommy James’ “Crimson and Clover,” which featured a cameo from James himself, as well as pop star Miley Cyrus.

Ironically enough, Jett performed “Smells Like Teen Spirit” with Grohl at last year’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, where they paid homage to Nirvana.

Cyrus was the artist that made the induction speech for Jett, praising her as a major influence in her life, and subsequently dubbed her as “Superwoman.” Jett’s acceptance speech was quite moving and emotional, and it earned her a standing ovation.

Along with Jett, Gary Ryan, Lee Crystal and Ricky Byrd of The Blackhearts were also inducted into the Class of 2015.

Jett is touring with legendary rock band The Who this year, as part of their “The Who Hits 50!” tour.
