“Lynn Anderson was a wonderful person, first and foremost,” he said, remembering the “Rose Garden” singer. “Every time I saw her, she would always say that she admired me, even after The Statler Brothers. When I would see her, she would always tell me, ‘I am pulling for you’ and ‘I know you can make it.’ She told me ‘Jimmy, all you have to be is you’ and ‘people are going to love you.’ She said: ‘If you believe that and you know that, then you are going to be okay.'”
Fortune will be releasing his highly-anticipated album, Hits & Hymns, on October 23. In this project, Fortune will be performing some of his classic Statler Brothers hit songs, in addition to several gospel hymns. This new CD features collaborations with some of country and gospel music’s leading artists such as fellow Country Music Hall of Famer Vince Gill, The Isaacs, Dailey & Vincent, The Oak Ridge Boys, multi-Grammy winner Ricky Skaggs and The Whites. His album, which was produced by Ben Isaacs, will be released via Gaither Music Group.
