Actor Jilon VanOver chatted about his upcoming acting projects, which include an action thriller, a holiday film, and a western.

Holiday movie

VanOver stars as Prince Sebastian in “Crown Prince of Christmas” opposite Cindy Busby. It was written and directed by Anthony C. Ferrante, and it will be released on December 10 on Great American Family. “I am really excited about it. I’ve seen a good bit of it. The movie is really sweet. The best thing about it was just working with Cindy, she is fantastic. Cindy has a great sense of humor and we had a really great time,” he said.

“I loved that my character is from the U.K. somewhere, so it gave me a chance to try a regal royal accent. Sebastian is someone who is trying to hide the fact that he is a prince, and he is discovering himself outside of that spotlight in New York,” he added.

“I hope the fans are touched and entertained by what Cindy and I were able to put on the screen. Anthony is a fantastic director, who is very underrated, I feel that he can be doing Marvel movies,” he said.

In this new movie, Madison, an aspiring musician, jokingly tells her overbearing family that she is dating the prince of a small European nation. The joke goes too far as her friend and co-worker Sebastian is roped into impersonating the prince while visiting her family in New Jersey. Little does Madison know that Sebastian happens to be hiding a royal secret.

New western movie

VanOver is excited about his new western movie, where he stars opposite Ross Jirgl. “That is going to be fun,” he hinted. “It’s a double feature, which includes ‘Butch Cassidy and The Wild Bunch,’ it’s a new take on the Butchy Cassidy storyline. We had a blast shooting in New Mexico and Los Angeles. Sundance was dangerous and boisterous, and he gave me so much more to play with. It was a lot of fun,” he said.

“Working with Ross was awesome, he is one of my best buddies,” VanOver said. “Ross got into the acting world a bit late but he has come on really fast and really strong. He is a really solid leading man, he is easy on the eyes, and he is just a really true-hearted guy. We have both played football in college as well, so we have that in common. We had a blast on this shoot, and we made the best thing we could.”

‘Deep Woods’ action thriller

He is looking forward to his new action thriller “Deep Woods,” which will be released on December 20. It was written and directed by Steve Laughlin, and VanOver plays the role of Ty Ellsworth.

On the title of the current chapter of his life, VanOver said, “Homeowner and Family man.” “I am finding a balance between family man and artist,” he said.

VanOver defined the word success simply as “living a happy life.” “When I let love lead, I found peace and happiness,” he said.
