Actress Jillian Murray opened up about her new holiday movie “A Brush with Christmas.”

This new film will premiere on Sunday, December 18 on Great American Family, and she stars opposite Joseph Cannata. “It is nice to have a happy and lighthearted holiday movie to watch on the weekends and get in the spirit of Christmas. It is nice to have those on,” she said.

On filming in Canada, she said with a sweet laugh, “It was cold. We filmed it in Winnipeg, Canada, and it had a small-town feel to it. Finally, a Christmas movie that was filmed in the winter.”

“Working with Joseph Cannata was cool,” she admitted. “Also, working with Farrah Aviva was great, she was always prepared, she was so funny, and she was a ball of energy. I still text her every day.”

The synopsis is as follows: Over the week leading up to Christmas in the town of Bayside, Charlotte (Jillian Murray) tries to capture her own unique style in the local art scene while also helping her mother, run the family restaurant.

Disheartened and struggling to find time for her art, Charlotte throws out her latest painting, only to discover that it has been anonymously submitted to the Christmas art festival. It turns out that Wyatt (Joseph Cannata), a visiting artist, stumbled upon her discarded work and is now using the festival’s exposure to find its mysterious creator.

“I am a huge Christmas movie fan,” she said. “Every three nights in the month of December, I would watch a Christmas film in the month of December. My husband and I would have a glass of mine and we would watch a fun Christmas movie and we would get all festive.”

On the title of the current chapter of her life, she responded, “Balance.” “I would like to balance all of the important things in my life evenly,” she said.

New Netflix film ‘Uglies’

Murray joined the cast of the upcoming Netflix film “Uglies,” where she will be starring alongside Robert Palmer Watkins and Joey King. “I love Robert Palmer Watkins, we got along instantly. He is awesome, and he is one of those people that instantly feels familiar to you,” she said.

The digital age

On being an actress in the digital age, Murray said, “It’s a very different experience. Normally, I would do a film and it would take eight months to a year before it comes out. Now, this is the first time in my career where I did a job and it was out in eight weeks.”

She also had kind words about actor and model Michael Blake Kruse, who is known for playing Rory Cabrera on “General Hospital.” “Michael is great, he is so sweet. He and I used to do modeling together. My husband, Dean, and I think the world of Michael,” she said.

Regarding her definition of the word success, Murray said, “Success is being happy and healthy. Those are my goals in life. I love acting, that is the reason that I am in this industry.”
