Actor Jesse Kove (“Cobra Kai”) chatted about his new movie “President Down,” which was released on Tubi in co-production with The Asylum Studios.

Nick Lyon directed the film from a screenplay by Kenny Zinn.

‘President Down’

On being a part of “President Down,” Kove remarked, “It was a very physically taxing movie but Nick Lyon, the director, called me and told me that this was going to be a very physical movie, emotional, and a very tactical movie.”

“Nick was so gracious in his compliments and told me that he wanted to make it with me because of our creative history, and he believed I would be up for the challenge. Of course, I told Nick that I would love to work with him again.”

“Nick and I had done a World War II movie beforehand,” Kove recalled. “So, I was very excited to do ‘President Down’ with him.”

Playing Jacob Pike

Kove was drawn to his character, Jacob Pike, for several reasons.

“My character’s loyalty is so important, and I wanted to show that because I am representing the Secret Service, which is such an important part of American patriotism and the sacrifices they make for those around them,” he elaborated.

Working with David Chokachi

On working with David Chokachi, Kove expressed, “David was so lovely to work with. He is such a good actor and he cares so much. We hit it off right away. We talked about our love for saving dogs. I really appreciated his presence in the movie. I would love to work with David again.”

Lessons learned from this screenplay

On the lessons learned from this screenplay, Kove shared, “This movie taught me a lot about my own perseverance.”

“There was so much to do in this film and I just wanted to make sure that I was elevating the creative on this movie,” he noted.

“I wanted everybody to look their best, and everybody really brought their A-game in this movie. I was so happy to be a part of that,” Kove acknowledged.

Closing thoughts on ‘President Down’

For fans and viewers, Kove stated about “President Down,” “I want them to get that great entertainment out of this movie.”

“Also, I want them to know that with persistency and loyalty you can get anything done, no matter the odds,” he concluded.
