Grammy-nominated songwriter Jenna Andrews chatted about hosting her informed conversations on mental health in “The Green Room” series.

She also opened up about being an artist, songwriter, and producer in the digital age.

‘The Green Room’ series

Andrews described this talk series as a “very cathartic experience.” For me, anxiety has always been a struggle, but I find that talking about it with other likeminded people has been extremely therapeutic, and those conversations have contributed a lot to my songwriting,” she said.

The importance of mental health

Andrews opened up about the significance of mental health, especially in the day and age. “This is important to me because I have struggled with bullying/eating disorders/panic attacks/anxiety… but talking about it vulnerably openly has not only helped me get through these things/ it has also made me a better songwriter,” she said.

“It has taught valuable lessons in life and helped me develop strength and resilience… and I want to be a positive influence for young girls coming up in the music business and help them navigate these things in a way that I never knew how.

Future plans

Regarding her future plans, Andrews shared, “Right now, I want to continue to grow the Green Room and influence positive change. On the songwriting side, recently I have been working closely with artists such as Nelly Furtado, David Guetta, Jessie Murph, Micky Guyton, Rita Ora, and Roy Woods, among many more.”

The digital age

On being an artist, songwriter and producer in the digital age, now with streaming and technology being so prevalent, Andrews said, “Overall I think it’s great, it opens up so many opportunities for creativity… even though it can feel very oversaturated, I still think greatness rises to the top.”

Andrews listed global music stars Lady Gaga, Brandy, Rihanna, Adele, and Bruno Mars as her dream collaboration choices in music.

On her favorite mottos to live by, she said, “Manifest. Be yourself. Everyone else is already taken.”

For her fans and supporters, Andrews concluded about her new music, “It will have unexpected and new vibes.”
