Jeff Bridges scores Oscar nomination for ‘Hell or High Water’

Bridges is nominated for his acting work in Hell or High Water, where he portrays Marcus Hamilton. This marks his seventh career Oscar nomination, and fourth in the “Supporting Actor” category. Bridges holds one Academy Award to his credit, in the “Best Actor category, where he won for his performance as Bad Blake in Crazy Heart in 2010.

This year, Bridges is nominated with such actors as Lucas Hedges in Manchester by the Sea, Dev Patel in Lion, Michael Shannon in Nocturnal Animals and Mahershala Ali in Moonlight.

In Hell or High Water, Bridges stars alongside fellow actors Chris Pine and Ben Foster. Aside from a nomination in the “Best Supporting Actor” category, the film is nominated for “Best Original Screenplay,” “Best Film Editing” and for the prestigious accolade, “Best Picture.”

Hell or High Water, directed by David Mackenzie and written by Taylor Sheridan, garnered a rave review from Digital Journal, among countless other film critics.
