Jeannie Seely honored by Pennsylvania House of Representatives

The Pennsylvania House of Representatives unanimously approved House Resolution 259, which honored country queen Jeannie Seely on her 50th anniversary of becoming a Grand Ole Opry member. This resolution was sponsored by Pennsylvania Representative Kathy Rapp.

The iconic country songstress was joined by Rapp and Mike Turzai, who is the Speaker of the House Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Seely expressed that she is extremely proud of her heritage, and she hopes that she will always represent Pennsylvania in a manner that would make their proud. She went on to thank the House of Representatives for this prestigious honor.

Seely became the first Pennsylvania native to become a member of the Grand Ole Opry on September 16, 1967. In addition, Seely was the first woman to regularly host Opry segments.

Her latest studio album, Written in Song, garnered rave reviews from music critics as well as her peers in the music industry. These raves including glowing reviews from CMT, Roughstock, and Digital Journal, among others.
