Jeannie Seely celebrates 51 years as a Grand Ole Opry star

Seely was officially inducted into the Grand Ole Opry on September 16, 1967. Last year, a big celebration was held at the Grand Ole Opry for her 50th anniversary as a member. Seely became the sixth woman in country music history to celebrate half a century as a member, along with Loretta Lynn, Connie Smith, as well as the late country artists Jean Shepard, Wilma Lee Cooper, and Minnie Pearl.

This past August, Seely earned her star on Nashville’s Music City Walk of Fame, along with such distinguished artists as Ben Folds, Brenda Lee, and Ray Stevens.

Next month, on October 10, 2018, Seely will be hosting the Dottie West Birthday Jam at the 3rd and Lindsley Bar and Grill in Nashville. This special event will be a celebration of the birthday of the late iconic country songstress Dottie West, as well as her posthumous induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame.
