Canadian actress Jayda Stephens chatted about her motivations and future plans as an actress in the digital age.
What motivates you each day as an actress?
What motivates me most is the psychology behind acting. I’m deeply drawn to the process of fully immersing myself in a character—being present, understanding their emotional world, and bringing that to life in a way that resonates with others.
There’s something powerful about telling a story that allows people to feel seen or understood.
Every day, my curiosity grows, and with it, my desire to keep learning, evolving, and pushing myself creatively.
How does it feel to be a part of the digital age?
Being part of the digital age is both exciting and complex. I love the creative freedom it offers—how we can connect, share, and express ourselves on such a global scale in a creative way.
At the same time, it can sometimes pull us away from being fully present in real life. It’s about finding a balance—using these platforms as tools for connection and creativity, while staying grounded in authenticity.

How does it feel to be part of the vertical drama space? What do you love most about it?
Being part of the vertical drama space has been incredibly formative for me. It’s fast-paced, demanding, and constantly pushes me outside of my comfort zone—in the best way.
From memorizing large scripts on tight timelines to filming multiple scenes in a day, it has strengthened both my discipline and adaptability.
What I love most is the growth—it’s where I began, and every project teaches me something new about myself and my craft. I’ve also built meaningful relationships along the way, which I value deeply.
At the same time, I’m intentional about the stories I choose to be part of. I’m passionate about telling stories with depth and purpose, and I aim to align myself with projects that reflect values I believe in.
As the industry continues to evolve, I’m excited to see where it goes and how I can grow alongside it.
What do your plans for the future include?
My plans for the future are centered around growth—both personally and professionally. I want to continue expanding my work as an actress while also stepping further into producing.
I’m committed to constantly learning, refining my craft, and taking on projects that challenge and inspire me.
Beyond my career, I value staying connected to the people I love and creating meaningful experiences. For me, it’s about building a life that’s both fulfilling and creatively driven.
Were there any moments in your career that have helped define you?
There have been many defining moments, but one of the most impactful has been overcoming my own self-doubt.
Growing up, I struggled with social anxiety, and stepping into this industry pushed me far beyond my comfort zone.
There have been times on set where I questioned myself—wondering if I was capable—but I learned to trust my instincts and rise to the challenge. Each project has shown me that I’m capable of more than I once believed.
I often think about the younger version of myself who was too afraid to even speak in front of a class, and I know she would be incredibly proud. That growth has been one of the most defining parts of my journey.
What is your advice for young and emerging actors?
I’m still learning myself, but my biggest advice would be: take every opportunity and don’t overthink it. Growth comes from doing.
Don’t let the fear of judgment hold you back—most people are focused on their own paths, not yours. So take risks, explore, and allow yourself to be creative, bold, and even a little messy.
At the same time, invest in your craft. Stay curious, keep learning, and most importantly, build a strong sense of self. When you truly believe in who you are, everything else starts to align.
What does the word “success” mean to you?
Success, to me, is being grounded in who you are and aligned with what you do. It’s not one fixed definition—it’s personal and constantly evolving.
If you feel fulfilled, authentic, and at peace with your journey, I believe that is success.
What would you like to say to your fans?
I would just like to say thank you. The support I’ve received means more than I can fully put into words.
Every message, every kind comment—it all reminds me how grateful I am to do what I love.
I truly appreciate each and every person who has supported me along the way.
