Emmy award-winning actor Jason Thompson (“The Young and The Restless”) was recently featured in Maurice Benard’s “State of Mind” mental health podcast. Digital Journal has the scoop.

Benard worked with Thompson while he was on the hit ABC daytime drama where he portrayed Patrick Drake. Thompson now plays the role of Billy Abbott on “The Young and The Restless” on CBS.

Although Thompson does not have mental illness personally, he is aware of mental health and underscored its importance. Both actors open up about their families, being fathers and husbands, the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as the need to stay in the moment.

This was one of the most insightful and compelling episodes yet in this mental health digital series. The mutual respect and admiration that both actors have for each other is quite noteworthy.

Their entire candid, informed conversation may be seen below on Maurice Benard’s “State of Mind” YouTube channel.
