Jason Michael Carroll talks ‘God Only Knows’ single and new CD (Includes interview)

Regarding his new album, he said, “It’s our first record in four years. I am excited about it.”

Jason Michael Carroll continued, “We recorded this record in closets, garages and in different studios. I sang most of my vocals in my little, 10 by 12 office at home, so it was really cool to bring life to these songs without having to be in a major studio setting. We did this record while touring the entire time. This is my band that played on this record. These are my guys”

He arranged his 15-track album, What Color Is Your Sky, based on how the songs were reacting to his fans at the live setting. “I have always been the kind of guy that would write a song and want to take it immediately to the fans and play it acoustically for them,” he said.

Carroll noted that the title track of the CD is his personal favorite tune on the project. “It has a positive outlook. It screams that ‘everything is what you make it.’ The song itself talks about where this guy got a broken heart because a girl left him, and he is wondering how that person is. Even with all that, it has a positive message, and it encompasses the entire record. It evokes a thought,” he said.

Aside from collaborating with Jewel on his first album, he listed Steven Tyler from Aerosmith, Martina McBride, Carrie Underwood and Reba McEntire as his dream collaboration choices.
