Jasmine Ellis Cooper chatted about starring in “Martha’s Vineyard” Season 2 on Bravo and Peacock.

On being a part of “Martha’s Vineyard,” she said, “For Season two, I went in with clear intentions of having fun, and really seeing where my friendship stood before a huge milestone in my life took place. Even though I really missed my husband, I did have a great time with my friends.”

She is drawn to this show for several reasons. “I love that so many of my peers and people that I look up to in life can feel seen and a part of our friend group,” she said.

“I know had I not been on ‘Summer House: Martha’s Vineyard,’ I would love to support a show like this. We are the only young, all Black cast in reality television right now and that’s a huge honor,” she said.

Favorite part of the filming experience

When asked about her favorite part of the filming experience, she said, “Filming can be a lot sometimes but we have an incredible team and crew of really solid folks.”

“Getting to know and bond with everyone behind the cameras is so underrated. They help tell our stories, so I have so much love for them and how they support us,” she added.

The digital age

On being a part of the digital age, she said, “At first, it was an adjustment to have our viewers be so vocal about everything they thought and felt.”

“Now, I feel really connected to our viewers through social media. There’s a deeper community that feels like one big group chat or a Twitter thread coming to life. I love that’s it’s an extension of our show,” she added.

Advice for young viewers watching the show

For young viewers watching the show, she said, “I know my friends and I can be a lot sometimes, and we make each other laugh, but years from now I hope younger viewers can have the confidence to navigate the complexity of hitting huge life milestones and friendships and know that it doesn’t always look perfect or one way.”

“Everyone will experience something that one of us has experienced on the show at some point in their life,” she added.

Future plans

On her future plans, she shared, “My future plans are highlighting causes that mean a lot to me, launching my podcast and falling in love with motherhood.”

Success

Regarding her definition of the word success, she remarked, “Success, to me, means working on projects that feel like a calling with people I admire and my family being my biggest flex.”

Closing thoughts on ‘Martha’s Vineyard’ Season 2

For fans and viewers, she concluded about the new show, “Set boundaries for everything in your life, except the amount of fun that you have.”
