Disney actor and musician Issac Ryan Brown (“Raven’s Home”) chatted about his new single “End of the Season” and being a part of the digital age.
How did “End of the Season” come about?
The process of creating “End of The Season” was pretty similar to how I usually create a song.
Building the beat, finding a melody, and crafting the lyrics. I was actually going through a situation at the time that added a little extra grease to the flame, so to speak.
I think the mix of how intense I was emotionally with how good I felt vocally at that time led to this single.
What inspires your music and songwriting?
I would say that my everyday experiences inspire my music and songwriting the most.
Most of my songs, even if they’re a little exaggerated, are usually based on something that I’ve gone through myself.
How was your experience in “Raven’s Home”?
My experience in “Raven’s Home” was transformative, in that I actually grew up and became an adult on that show.
I learned so many life lessons, and made lifelong connections from being apart of that show and I’m very grateful for the opportunity.
How does it feel to be an actor and musician in the digital age? (Now with streaming, technology and social media being so prevalent)
It’s interesting… I love being able to interact with my fans all over the world, at any given time and get their reactions in real time.
I also feel like streaming and social media desensitized a lot of people, just because of the volume of media folks are consuming. Overall, I think it’s a great tool for artists.
What do your plans for the future include?
My plans for the future are different short-term vs. long term… long-term I would say to embark on a World Tour, win Grammys, and definitely still act in different movies or TV shows.
Short-term, I am releasing my new single “End of the Season,” which is fire, and gearing up for the next drop.
What is your advice for young and emerging actors and musicians?
My advice for young and emerging actors and musicians is to always chase their dreams no matter how many nos they hear.
I’m a firm believer that the only one that can stop you is you!
Which artists would you like to do a dream duet with someday?
An artist I would love to do a dream duet with would have to be Kehlani.
Her album “It Was Good Until It Wasn’t” is one of my personal favorite R&B albums of all time.
What does the word success mean to you? (My favorite question)
The word success, to me, means achieving things that you set out to accomplish.
For me, that was always making sure the people closest to me feel loved, creating art that makes me feel alive, and keeping God at the forefront.
What would you like to tell our readers about your new music? (What’s the one thing you want them to get out of it)
I can’t wait for all the readers to get this new music. “End of the Season” is just the tip of the iceberg, so everyone should definitely stay tuned!
The one thing I want people to get out of my music is a rush; I want it to feel like they just got on the world’s greatest roller coaster because that’s how I get to feel when I perform.
