Interview: Walker McGuire talks new single ‘Til Tomorrow’ (Includes interview)

On their new single, “Til Tomorrow,” Walker said, “We wrote this song about four years ago. It was an idea that I had, where I wanted to write a good ole fashioned break-up song. It has always been that cornerstone song for us.”

Regarding their song’s music video, McGuire said, “The music video is our first official music video that we did. It was a real fun experience that we filmed at a basement in Nashville. We hung out and got our acting skills up that day, and it was pretty quick for what it was. We had a guy and a girl in it to show both perspectives, and we want to make it relatable to everyone.”

They had nothing but the kindest words about working with acclaimed producer Mickey Jack Cones. “Mickey is the wizard. He is so talented and he is basically the third member of the band. With his ear and musical talent, he will coach us and give us support and ideas. It is pretty cool,” he said. “Mickey is a great singer and an amazing guitar player.”

Walker McGuire listed Natalie Maines of The Dixie Chicks and Runaway June as their dream female duet choices in country music. “There are so many good female singers today,” they admitted.

“We finished up our 10-week radio tour. We hadn’t been home for two days in 10 weeks, and we hope to start planning out the full record, and we want to start hitting the road. We are excited,” the duo concurred.
