Interview: Tritonal talks ‘Strangers,’ Miami Music Week, future (Includes interview)

On performing at Marquee New York, Cisneros said, “We love New York. We have been playing here for eight years now. It’s one of our favorite cities in the world, and tonight’s a good night.”

Reed added, “Tonight, we’ve got new tracks that are not even out yet, and we’re just going to have fun in there tonight. We are going to bring some fire. We’re going to have a good time.”

On their future plans, Cisneros said, “This is a big year for us. We are working on some remixes for some of our friends. We just finished a few remixes for Coldplay and The Chainsmokers. We’re starting a remix Monday for Zedd for ‘Stay.’ We are busy boys. We just dropped ‘Strangers’ and we are about to drop another progressive house song.”

The duo is really excited for Miami Music Week in Florida. “We have a couple of things lined up for Miami Music Week. It will be a full week, and it will be fun. We always look forward in going,” Reed said.

Out of their musical catalog, Tritonal listed “Only Mortal” as their personal favorite track of theirs. “That song is not an obvious one. It was the last track on our last album,” they concurred.

Each day, they are motivated by their love for writing music. “The passion that we have for writing is an alarm clock every morning. That’s what we were designed to do,” Reed said.

On the future of electronic music, they said, “Trance is re-surging and there are more melodies. We think it is super-fun. It is going to keep cross-pollinating.”

Their proudest moments included touring outside the United States, playing in Hawaii and Russia. “I’m proud of the growth with Painting with Dreams. We were able to go out of our genre and we rebuilt ourselves as a new act and the album culminated that, and I was proud of our work,” he said.

Tritonal defined the word success as “happiness and peace.”

“Strangers” is available on Spotify.
