Roseanna praised New York for being one of her favorite cities in the world. Alanna noted that they enjoy different kinds of music. “We listen to all different types of genres, and if we like the song, we like the song,” Alanna explained. “We were classically-trained in piano and violin, and we did choirs together, so we have that background.
On their new music, Jonathan said, “Our sound is natural. We have always grown up around music, and we have great people working with us in our band and at the label.”
They filmed their “Fight For What’s Right” music video in Manattan. “We filmed that in Orchard Street, and what is cool is that the Google Street View van was there, so we were on Google maps,” Roseanna said. “That was a really amazing day, even though it was a long and hot day. It was such a great experience, especially to film it in New York”
Each day, The Rua is motivated by their love for music. “We just love music and we really want to have longevity to build our fan-base and grow as artists and writers,” Jonathan said. “We motivate each other as well,” Roseanna said.
Regarding their plans for the future, Alanna said, “In the immediate future, we are going to Atlanta, Georgia, where we will be playing for Cumulus there. We are then heading back to Europe, and doing some promotion with the BBC and some national networks in France, Italy and Germany. We are always writing and recording songs as well. We hope to come back to America in the fall.”
Roseanna selected Ed Sheeran and Adam Levine of Maroon 5 as her dream male duet choices, Alanna chose Justin Timberlake, while Jonathan picked Taylor Swift and Ellie Goulding as his dream female duet partners. “I would love to have a ginger power song with Ed Sheeran. We are ginger family and us redheads need to stick together,” Roseanna admitted.
