Interview: The Felix discuss new single ‘The Other Side of Night’ (Includes interview)

How did “The Other Side of Night” come about? (great song by the way)

“(Thanks so much!) Well, our friend died young. He was really popular and truly an amazing dude. He left a emptiness in a lot of people’s lives. This one is all for him.”

How did you approach your songwriting for the single?

“We threw away about 25 shittier versions of it, actually. We wanted to make sure that who and what it is about were properly taken care of.”

What do your plans for the future include?

“Making music. Breaking hearts. Taking trips.”

What motivates you each day?

“Sunshine and coffee…or rain and coffee. Basically coffee.”

What advice do you have for aspiring musicians?

“Keep making music that you wanna listen to.”

Who are your dream collaboration choices in music?

“Working with some big city orchestra would be amazing. Plus Quincy Jones and Prince (this is a dream right?)”

Who are your biggest musical influences?

“We’d have to say that the Notorious B.I.G. is probably our largest influence…but we love so many artists from all across music. We kinda come from everywhere.”

What would you like to say to your fans?

“Hi – We Love You – and we hope to be friends forever!!!”
