Interview: Steve Grand talks new single ‘Walking,’ plans for 2017 (Includes interview)

“I wrote it about a relationship that I was in, and with that, it came pretty quickly,” he said, about his latest single. “The lyrics came right with the melody as I was sitting at the piano. It didn’t take very long to write.”

Grand continued, “This is definitely one of the lighter tracks on the record, in terms of the tone of the lyrics and the music.”

The Illinois native shared that a full-length music video for “Walking” is in the works. In addition, he continues to work very hard on his craft. “I love what I am doing right now. I feel good about working very hard,” he said. “I haven’t taken much of a break, and there’s something that I love about being my own boss and working in a creative field. I always remind myself how lucky I am that I am doing something rewarding and fulfilling.”

Starting July 5 until August 31, Grand will be performing at Art House in Provincetown, Massachusetts, as part of his summer residency at that venue.

Grand noted that he would love to someday perform at The Paramount in Huntington, New York, for his Long Island fans and listeners. “I really want to make that happen,” he said.

“Walking” garnered a glowing review from Digital Journal. The song is available on iTunes.
