Interview: Nashville’s Charles Esten discusses ‘Light the Night’ (Includes interview)

The “Light The Night Walk” is The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s evening walk that took place on October 21 in Nashville, Tennessee.

As Digital Journal reported, Esten joined the fight against blood cancer, and he served as the 2016 “National Light The Night” honorary chairperson. “We broke a record, where we blew out what we expected to make,” Esten said. “I am so proud. It is always my favorite night of the year, and this one surpassed the expectations. The bar has been raised and we are looking forward to the hard task of beating that number next year.”

Esten and his wife, Patty, had two teams walk under the “Team Addie” banner in Nashville and then two additional teams walk in Washington, DC, and Boston under that banner as well. The National “Team Addie” total was $159,447, which is comprised of the total from all four teams in 2016. “We are very grateful,” he said, referring to the success of last year’s event.
