Interview: Morgan Page talks new track ‘Don’t Give Up’ and Adele (Includes interview)

Most recently, Page signed to the prestigious record label Armada Music. “That feels great! It’s my first time signed to a dance label, so I’m excited to be working with them,” he said.

Regarding his new track, “Don’t Give Up,” he said, “Lissie played me a demo of a song she was working on, live on acoustic guitar in the studio, and I said immediately – let’s track the vocals and let me work on something. She released her alternative/rock version, and I did a dance-focused mix.”

Page had nothing but the kindest remarks about collaborating with Lissie. “She’s great! Even though people make Stevie Nicks comparisons, she truly has a unique voice that you know is Lissie immediately,” he said.

Each day, the Grammy-nominated musician is motivated by coffee. “It’s usually coffee, but the blank canvas of making music inspires me. It’s the finishing part that drives me nuts,” he said.

He is drawn to electronic dance music due to its collaborative spirit. “Also, the ability to share your music without setting up a 20 piece drum kit, the diversity of the instrument sounds in EDM, and the global nature of the music,” he said.

Page’s plans for the future are to explore new territories from a sonic standpoint. “I’ve got about six months of singles planned, some exciting projects with Oculus in Virtual Reality, and always touring,” he said.

He listed Adele and Alison Krauss as his dream female duet choices. “Adele and Alison Krauss are amazing… very different sounds that could complement each other well.

His New Year’s resolutions for 2017 are to “work harder,” and to “simplify things,” and to get his secret MP Quick Tips project done. “It’s free, and it compiles my 15 years of experience into simple tips and blog posts,” he said.

For his fans, Page concluded, “Thank you for always being there. I love when fans say they grew up with my music, or I was their gateway to EDM… it’s an honor! We’re just getting started.”
