Regarding the song selection process for Hourglass, Seaver said, “This one is a departure for us. We really wanted to go into something into indie-electronic. It has personal and honest songwriting. Everything started with vocal and piano. When we had a nice body of work, the theme of all the songs had to do with time in some respect, so an hourglass was representative of time.”
Seaver listed “Let Go Of The Wheel” as his personal favorite track on the album. His second favorite tune was “Our Story.”
On December 6, they will be performing at Mercury Lounge in the heart of New York City, as part of their “Hourglass Live” Tour. “We are really excited. We are doing some rehearsals next week. We are playing in a small venue, in a really intimate space, and we will play the whole album through,” he said. “It is going to be the first time that anybody has heard the songs.”
He listed as Ellie Goulding and Tove Lo as his dream female collaboration choices in music, and he complimented Robyn.
Seaver is drawn to electronic dance music due to its connection with the youth. “My background is in classical music and when I first met Logan, he yanked me in to electronic music,” he said. “It allows people to lose themselves in it.”
For aspiring DJs and producers, he said, “Make as much music as humanly possible, and find your own voice. Make albums worth of music, and only put out your best work. ”
Seaver told his fans, “The biggest thank you. Logan and I feel so grateful. The fans are so positive and it has been a joy to get the music out to them.”
