Interview: LNY TNZ talks ‘Set You Free,’ Hardwell and Blasterjaxx (Includes interview)

On their track “Set You Free,” they said, “Our latest single ‘Set You Free’ is in our opinion a great mix between different ingredients of different styles of music. We have tried to combine some pop influences with trap, hard-style kicks and future bass. We think this single really turned out to be something fresh and we are very lucky that the people seem to like it. We receive a lot of national and international radio support which is great. We recently also dropped a club mix of ‘Set You Free’ which is a free download on our Soundcloud page. We think this version works better for our live sets. It is a little more rough. Go check it out now.”

Their music has received support from such artists as Hardwell and Blasterjaxx. “It was really great to have our new single ‘Set You Free’ premiered in Hardwell’s radio show. Hardwell told us he really liked the track from the moment he heard it. After Hardwell and Blasterjaxx’s shows were aired we immediately received a lot of great feedback and messages from the fans. We didn’t really know how the people would react because we think it is a really experimental sound. At this moment the major Dutch radio stations are already supporting the track, so we are really happy. The numbers on Spotify are also growing, so this is really awesome,” they exclaimed.

Regarding their plans for the future, they said, “We just love to come with new, fresh and inspiring music. So, we will definitely come with some new singles and some more EP’s with more club related material. We just do what we love. It would be great if we can continue to play our music at venues and festivals all over the world. Traveling is fun and we are really blessed that we can play our music in front of thousands of people all over the world. We are already working on a new single and we have already finished some demos. We are not sure when this will be released. We just have to finish it and feel confident about it. There is a chance we will be back in the New York area during the summer. Just keep an eye on our social media.”

They listed Hans Zimmer and Max Martin as their dream collaboration choice in music. “We are a huge fan of Hans Zimmer, who is in our opinion one of the best film score writers out there. We love Max Martin, one of the best pop song producers and we are a huge fan of different artists. Personally, we love to work with unknown great talented singers. It’s all about the music, voices and chemistry,” they said.

In the past, they collaborated with Yellow Claw, which was great for them to work and hang with the guys. “For example for the track ‘Techno’ we did with Yellow Claw, Diplo and Waka Flocka Flame: we never really thought it would hit that hard. The cool thing what happened in this track is that we brought trap, harder styles and rap all together in one track! Which we think is really awesome. Rap lovers, trap lovers and people who listen to harder styles all seem to like this track. That’s why we say: ‘FVCK GENRES’ it’s all about the music. We are all really anti-drugs and that is why we decided to do a video against drugs,” they said.

For aspiring DJs and producers, they said, “Try to produce as much music as you can and spread it out for free. The most perfect source for this is SoundCloud. This is a great opportunity to gain a fan base. Great talent will never be undiscovered. So the key is to work hard, try to spread your music and some artist or label will keep an eye on you.”
