On his experience opening for Garth Brooks, he said, “It was great. It was beyond what I thought it would be. The helicopter. Garth was great. I learned a lot as an entertainer. Garth engages the crowd in a great way. His performance was very heartfelt. Behind the scenes, he wasn’t different. He was the same guy that was very humble, energetic and happy to be there.”
In his previous concerts, Brooks tipped his hat to Joe Nichols covering “Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off.” “That felt even better,” Nichols said. “For him to cover one of my songs, that’s a huge pat on the back, from one of our biggest superstars we’ve ever had in country music. It has been a good time. I really appreciate what he has done for country music.”
He revealed that his wife, Heather, and his three girls are all doing great. “They are good. Heather is great, and the kids are growing so fast. I can’t believe it. I think I have the tallest two-year-old in the state of Texas. She’s extremely tall and she is learning new things by the day,” he said.
For his fans, Nichols concluded, “Keep the faith. We have some traditional country music on this record.”
