Interview: Jacob Whitesides talks ‘Lovesick’ World Tour and song (Includes interview)

Regarding his “Lovesick” World Tour, he said, “It has been insane, honestly. It has been a while since I was able to headline in the United States, and this is the first time ever where I was able to do full-band shows with original music. I still haven’t processed it, but I do appreciate it. This has been incredible.”

His music video for “Lovesick” features Whitesides starring alongside other young social media talent such as Wellington Boyce, Alex Aiono and Andrea Russett; moreover, it features a brief cameo from Grammy winner Michael Bolton. “That was the first gig of acting that I’ve ever done. I love doing videos that are random, but that still make sense,” he said. “Michael Bolton was just a class act. He was such a great and humble guy, and a rock star. Overall, it was fun to do something different.”

Last year, Whitesides was part of R5’s headlining tour, and he played the Paramount in Huntington, Long Island. “That was my first tour with a band and original music. It was incredible. Those guys were class acts and it was great to hang with them. All the shows were packed. It was such a flawless tour,” he said.

He listed global music stars Beyonce, Demi Lovato and Ariana Grande as his dream female duet choices, and he complimented Jessie J and Ellie Goulding for their talents.

For his fans, Whitesides concluded, “I am really thankful that the fans have struck around for so long. The fact that we have made it through this entire journey together is amazing. A lot of them have been around since the very beginning, and it has been really fun.
