Interview: Daniel Skye discusses new single ‘Good As It Gets’ (Includes interview)

On his new single “Good As It Gets,” Skye said, “It was really inspired by my life. We wrote that song in two days, and it was written about when I was hanging out with my friends to see a girl, and it’s always a good time, but eventually, at the end of the day, I have to leave and go out on the road, so ‘Good As It Gets’ was inspired by that,” he said, prior to noting that filming the music video for “Good As It Gets” was a “super fun shoot.”

Skye just inked a record deal with RCA Records. “It feels amazing. We just announced it. I’m super excited, I have a great team there and I work really closely with them, so I’m excited to see what the future brings to build the next chapter,” he said.

Regarding his plans for the future, he said, “I’m getting ready to release new music, and I can’t wait for my fans to hear it. I’m getting ready to go on tour around the country.”

He listed Miley Cyrus as his dream female duet choice. “I saw Miley in concert at the iHeartRadio festival in Las Vegas. I would love to collaborate with her. She was really cool on stage,” he said.

For aspiring musicians, he said, “Work hard and don’t give up if you get put down. There will always be people that will want to put you down. Work hard at it and eventually it will get there.”
