Interview: Benjamin Carlisle talks electronic music, Soundcloud (Includes interview)

He is drawn to electronic dance music due to its diversity. “There are so many possibilities when starting a track and so many different facets to the electronic world,” he said.

Regarding his new release “Love Me Like This (Icarus Mix),” he said, “It all started with ‘One.’ The original instrumental was picked up by Insanity Records and given a proper mix down by Icarus. After that, Icarus found the vocal and the rest is history. It’s been an amazing few months.”

His plans for the future include are to spend all his spare time in the studio, release a lot of new music, and getting live shows booked.

Carlisle’s New Year’s resolutions are to “Keep working on new music and getting as many new tracks out there as possible.”

On being on Sony’s Insanity Records, he said, “I love working with the team at Insanity. It’s really helpful to have everyone around to bounce ideas off of. I have seen a huge improvement in my sound and my development as an artist. It’s important to have good people around you.”

His biggest musical influences include artists like Porter Robinson, Disclosure and Flume. “They have had a huge influence on my sound,” he said.

Carlisle’s favorite platform in staying connected with his fans is Soundcloud. “It’s always got great fresh tracks, make sure you follow me,” he said.

For his fans and followers, he concluded, “I would like to thank my fans for all of the support, and there is more new music to come, I can’t wait to share it with you.”
