This year, Buller is nominated for seven International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) awards, which include nods in such categories as “Emerging Artist,” “Fiddle Player,” “Songwriter,” “Song of the Year” as well as the coveted “Female Vocalist of the Year.” “I am absolutely stunned,” she said. “I was hoping for maybe one or two, but seven nominations blows my mind.”
Buller praised her fellow nominees in the “Female Vocalist” category, Amanda Smith, Dale Ann Bradley, Claire Lynch and Rhonda Vincent for being her heroes. “Those other gals are absolutely my heroes,” she said. “Dale Ann is wonderful and I was so excited that Amanda Smith finally got it last year. I cried when she was up there getting her award. That was long overdue,” she added.
Her album, Tween Earth and Sky, was in Buller’s head for a long time, and it is a great feeling for her to have it out for her fans. “It is so good to have it out, and on tape and done, for the rest of the world. A lot of the songs on there are older, and about 12 years old, and the newest one on there is ‘I Prayed for You.'”
She added, “I am influenced by so many different styles of bluegrass music, and I wanted to reflect that.”
Her plans for the future are to continue touring with her band. “Having a good time, and making good music, and coming home and being a good momma to my daughter,” she said. “I have a couple of Christmas singles that I will be finishing up this week, which I will have out for the Christmas season. I am working on getting a new album started this fall, cause it is time to have another one.”
On April 8, 2016, she will be performing at Mamaroneck, New York, at the Emelin Theatre.
