In Memoriam: Lynn Anderson — Country music’s biggest loss in 2015

This past year, Anderson had released her latest studio album, the gospel project Bridges. It garnered rave reviews from music critics, including Digital Journal, which dubbed it “Grammy-worthy.”

Her Bridges album featured her gospel version of “Drift Away.”

Anderson was remembered fondly by her peers in the industry including Brenda Lee, Tony Orlando and Grand Ole Opry star Jeannie Seely.

In addition, country superstars Tim McGraw and Martina McBride sang her signature song, “Rose Garden,” in her honor. Anderson was the very first female country singer to headline and sell out Madison Square Garden in 1974.
