How AI-created music is making thousands from streaming platforms

SeatPick utilised Streaming Calculator’s Music Royalty Calculator to estimate each AI-generated artist’s earnings from their 2025 releases. This figure is based on the normal streaming rate.

AI-generated music is garnering millions of streams of Spotify, earning for its ‘creators’ far more than the average worker. As AI continues to reshape the industry, three-quarters of music producers fear AI could soon replace human creators.

As to the extent of the problem, Deezer has revealed that nearly a third of new tracks uploaded daily are AI-generated.

This is not necessarily a good thing, with most of the AI music of a similar form and essentilly soulless. Journalist Eve Riskind (The Cornell Daily Sun) recently expressed her frustration with the rise of non-human created tracks: “Artificial intelligence poses a threat to art, taking genuine expression and compressing it into a one-dimensional money-maker.”

Data has been collated by the firm SeatPick, who applied the average cost-per-stream rate (between $0.003 – $0.0084) to each AI-generated artist’s streams from their 2025 releases to calculate their Spotify earnings from this year so far. The data is presented in British pounds.

The firm collected a list of AI-generated artists from news publications, like NME and Forbes, in addition to searching Spotify for playlists related to AI artists and their suggested similar artists. They then analysed 20 AI-generated artists with more than 20,000 monthly listeners to create their final list.

Next, they manually calculated the total number of streams from each AI-generated artist’s music released in 2025 so far (data collected on 13.10.2025). They collected the average monthly listeners from Spotify’s artist page. This came up with the top ten.

Despite only releasing their first track on June 30th, 2025, Blow Records is the highest-earning AI-generated artist on Spotify. Calculating the number of streams and average royalty rate, they are estimated to have earned £123,176 so far this year (or at least, what has been provided to those behind the ‘fake’ band).

Their biggest hit is ‘Predador de Perereca’, which amassed 1.6 million TikTok videos under the sound after recently going viral. With 2,830,449 average monthly listeners and more than 45 million streams on their 2025 tracks, they’ve also amassed 200,000 followers on Instagram. To put their fame into perspective, they have more monthly listeners on average than Rizzle Kicks (1,019,000).

The second-highest-earning AI-artist on Spotify is Biscuit Beats, earning an estimated £67,891 from their 2025 releases so far. Known for their explicit, parody-style songs, this AI country musician’s most listened to song amassed over 4 million listens on the platform, while their total listens for 2025 reach 24,959,000.

Ranking third, Xania Monet recently signed a multimillion-dollar record deal with Hallwood Media and charted on Billboard. This AI-powered R&B singer earned an estimated £50,021 from Spotify alone, with their breakout single “How Was I Supposed to Know?” climbing into Billboard’s R&B Digital Song sales top 10. She has more monthly listeners than Pixie Lott, Plan B and Professor Green, to name a few.

In fourth is Beats by AI, which went viral on TikTok earlier this year for their track ‘Only Thing I Love’ going viral on TikTok in June. Amassing more than 18 million streams from their 2025 releases, they’re estimated to have earned £49,935.

In fifth is AI-band Velvet Sundown, earning an estimated £38,819 from their 2025 songs. Controversially, they released two albums before admitting their music, images and backstory were created by AI. Nevertheless, they have more than 14 million total Spotify streams and 268,000 monthly listeners.
