Heffron Drive wins 2018 Macy’s iHeartRadio Rising Star contest

They bested the following artists who landed in the Top 5 with them: Alli Simpson, Sam Tsui, Candice Boyd, and Brooke Butler. As a result, as winners of the iHeartRadio Rising Star competition, Heffron Drive will be performing in Las Vegas during this year’s iHeartRadio Music Festival.

Big Time Rush fans will instantly recognize Kendall Schmidt from the Nickelodeon show and the band of the same name. Belt might also be recognized since he was the band’s touring guitarist.

Heffron Drive released their new radio single “Hot Summer” on June 15, 2018 via TOLbooth Records. The song’s music video was directed by Wesley Quinn.

“Hot Summer” is available on Spotify, and on iTunes.

Ironically enough, Big Time Rush alum James Maslow was the winner of the 2017 Macy’s iHeartRadio Rising Star competition.
