HALIENE talks electronic music, future plans, Armin van Buuren (Includes interview)

She collaborated with Gareth Emery and Standerwick on “Saving Light,” which has enjoyed major commercial success. “It has been pretty incredible to watch that song take flight into the world, and impact so many people and move so many hearts. It is an honor to have written and sang a song that so many people connect so deeply with,” she said.

HALIENE shared that she filmed the unplugged music video at Gareth Emery’s home. “We had fun shooting that at Gareth’s house one day. It was great,” she said.

She noted that she is drawn to electronic dance music due to its warm community. “Obviously, I love music, but I love the community that goes along with this music. I fell in love with electronic sounds when I was really young, and it has felt like a musical home to me. There is nothing else like it in any genre that I have found. People are so bonded together, and such fans of music. They live their life by it, and they show up for you in a deeper way than a crowd would. I am so blessed to be a part of a community that has fans like that,” she explained.

HALIENE is featured on Andrew Rayel’s newest track “In The Dark.” “I love that song. I never met Andrew Rayel until a few weeks ago, right before the song came out. He was halfway across the world when we worked on that song, and we officially met after the track was done. Andrew is so talented,” she said.

She has released a music video for her solo song “Dream In Color,” and she revealed that she will be releasing more solo music in the future. “It was so awesome to see everybody’s response to my solo record that came out in April,” she said. “Everybody has responded so positive to the video as well, and I am grateful for everybody’s feedback.”

On her future plans, she said, “There will be more collaborations, more touring and more shows. I will just keep on going.”

HALIENE listed trance superstar Armin van Buuren as her dream collaboration choice in electronic music. “Armin is absolutely incredibly talented. He is a legend, and he is very professional. There is a reason he is where he is today,” she said.

Digital transformation of electronic music

For HALIENE, the impact of technology in the music business is a double-edged sword. “It has connected us and disconnected us in some ways,” she said. “It is amazing that I can work with somebody across the world, and get more done in less time. Sometimes, you feel separate from people as well, since you are connected with them through a computer screen. Of course, musically, technology has opened up a whole new world of music for us, which is going to expand this year,” she said.

HALIENE defined success as “Feeling a satisfaction in your spirit with where you have come in what you chose to commit your life to. It is not defined in a monetary amount or possessions.”
