Guillermo del Toro is furious that Konami canceled Silent Hills

During an interview with Bloody Disgusting about the film Crimson Peak, del Toro expressed his anger over Konami having canceled Silent Hills. When asked to share his thought about the game, he said, We were hoping to actually create some sort of panic with some of the devices we were talking about and it is really a shame that it’s not happening. When you ask about how things operate, that makes no fucking sense at all that that game is not happening. Makes no f***ing sense at all. That’s the randomness that I was talking about.

This has not been the first time del Toro has expressed his anger over Silent Hills being canceled. Back in August he had said he will never get involved in the development of another video game.

Silent Hills was a planned reboot of the iconic horror series that was being developed by Hideo Kojima along side Guillermo del Toro. The project also involved the iconic horror manga artist, Junji Ito, and would have stared Norman Reedus as the main character.

Its cancellation in March 2015 has been seen by many in the gaming media as the biggest casualty in the company’s dispute with Kojima.
