Greg Vaughan wins 2018 Emmy award for ‘Days of Our Lives’

Vaughan won the daytime Emmy award for his portrayal of Eric Brady on the hit NBC soap opera Days of Our Lives. He bested fellow nominees Wally Kurth (General Hospital), cast-mate Chandler Massey (Days of Our Lives), Anthony Montgomery (General Hospital) and Greg Rikaart (The Young and The Restless). This marked Vaughan’s first career Emmy nomination, and win.

In his grateful acceptance speech, Vaughan thanked the Days of Our Lives executive producers Ken Corday and Greg Meng, as well as their writing and directing teams, and the executive staff. “We couldn’t do it every day without you,” he said.

Vaughan continued, “I am so proud and honored to be a part of this show.” He went on to thank his fellow cast members for all helping him get to this moment (which was 15 years in the making). “I share this with my wonderful co-stars Missy Reeves, Eric Martsolf and Ari Zucker,’ he said.

He got really tearful towards the end of his moving speech, when he thanked his kids. “To my children, you are the wings that give me this moment. My mother, I am here because of your endless love and support. I love you,” he concluded.
