Emmy winners Greg Rikaart and Patrika Darbo open up about the digital age, at a time when streaming services are so prevalent.

On September 17, they both participated in a joint Zoom fan event for Spectrum Celebrity Events, where the proceeds went towards the nonprofit organization True Colors United. This virtual event was hosted by Tony Moore of “Dishin’ Days.”

As of September 12, “Days of Our Lives” made the move to the streaming service Peacock, which will serve as its new home.

Rikaart is pleased to be on contract on “Days of Our Lives,” and to have been a part of the Peacock specials “Beyond Salem” and “A Very Salem Christmas” as Leo Stark. “I am the happiest guy in the world,” he admitted. “I am thrilled, it is such a fun character to play. Everyone at ‘Days of Our Lives’ is wonderful and lovely. It’s a great group of people to play around with. I am having a blast,” Rikaart exclaimed.

“Streaming is the future,” Rikaart added.

Patrika Darbo, who is back as Nancy Wesley on “Days of Our Lives,” acknowledged that network TV will still be here but it will consist of sports, talk shows, and game shows, but noted that it probably won’t be episodic television anymore or sitcoms. “Streaming is the future,” Darbo reiterated. “I am trying to work the streaming services and I am trying to learn little bits at a time.”

Rikaart shared that he recently saw the “Cat On A Hot Tin Roof” Off-Broadway production in New York, directed by Joe Rosario, starring Christian Jules LeBlanc as Big Daddy and Matt de Rogatis as Brick.

“Christian is so talented, he really killed it. Even on TV, Christian’s style of performing lends itself so well to the stage,” Rikaart said.
