Bieber and Rogen fight
Bieber gracefully accepted and it appears the two are now, if not friends, then friendly acquaintances. The make-up took place while they were filming an appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres Show and encountered one another backstage.
No cameras there to record the event, or at least no footage has shown up of it, but Rogen told Ellen about it while taping a segment of her show. Bieber and Rogen were later filmed shaking hands on the show aired on Wednesday.
Rogen began the feud with remarks about the Biebs on social media, so it was Rogen who had the most to apologize for.
On the Howard Stern show last year Rogen said Bieber was “a good example of someone who you meet, who you think you are going to hate, then you get to hate him. You meet him and he lives up to every one of your expectations.”
The 33-year-old also called Bieber, 21, a “piece of shit” and once waxed on about how meeting Bieber at an event in Germany was a painful experience; at that time he called Bieber “a little bit of a motherfucker” and a “dink.”
This despite Bieber tweeting that he loved Rogen’s movies regardless of his fellow Canadian’s feelings toward him. Bieber is from Stratford, Ontario, while Rogen is from Vancouver.
Seth Rogen apologizes
Rogen stepped up and confessed to Degeneres that he was the architect of the feud. He didn’t try and foist any of the blame on Bieber but was very candid in pointing the finger at himself alone.
“We had a beef, I guess you would say,” Rogen told DeGeneres. “It’s not really a beef I just called him some really mean things on social media for no real reason. And I only met him very briefly. I can’t tell you why I did it. I was inclined to do it in that moment and then I did it.
“And then it really hurt his feelings, as it should have. And a lot of people got very mad at me” he added. “All this time I had only met him once very briefly and it was honestly a very pleasant interaction. I finally saw him today in the hallway of your show and I guess we made up, which is fantastic.”
He said the beef was “all my fault” and referring to photos of Bieber where the singer looks muscular Rogen said he was glad they made-up because “I want him on my side.”
So where does this burgeoning friendship go now? Will we see Bieber acting in a Rogen film? Rogen singing back-up on a Bieber track? The sky may be the limit for two famous Canadian entertainers who are no longer feuding.
And finally Bieber has announced his ‘Purpose World Tour’ that will see him play 58 cities between March 9 and July 18 next year. As for Rogen he is starring alongside Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Anthony Mackie in the newly released Christmas move The Night Before.
