“Girl, Chill” is an entertaining dramedy digital series by filmmaker and actor Robert Michael. Digital Journal has the recap.
The synopsis of “Girl, Chill” is as follows: Finding love is tough in the city, and for one woman, it’s pure desperation at this point; moreover, we follow a diverse cast of characters from all walks of life and sexual orientations, as they venture into the shark tank of the big city to chase their ambitions.
Robert Michael stars as fashion photographer Darren who is trying to ensure that his photography business is running smoothly, while Janine Gateland plays Amy, a woman who is trying to find love in Los Angeles.
Darren’s assistant, the vindictive Melody (played by Roz Stanley), is also trying to be a fashion model, and she will stop at nothing to achieve that goal. These three city dwellers fight to follow their hearts and dreams, and desperate measures are subsequently taken.
Supporting actors Benjamin Keller and Sandra De Sousa are able to provide comic relief as Dr. Longshot and Mallory the matchmaker respectively.
This five-episode series highlights the desperate attempts people make to realize their dreams. It is worth checking out, as the topics presented are timely, relatable, and relevant. This project seemed to be a labor of love for showrunner Robert Michael.
