German composer wins 2018 Emmy award for ‘Game of Thrones’

Djawadi has composed the music for all seven seasons of the hit series Game of Thrones on HBO. In particular, his score for the penultimate season finale episode entitled “The Dragon and the Wolf” received the Emmy award for “Outstanding Music Composition For A Series Original Dramatic Score.”

Game of Thrones earned 22 Emmy nominations this year, followed by Westworld which garnered 21 nominations.

Regarding his Emmy award win, Djawadi expressed that he is extremely honored to be a part of Game of Thrones, as well as the HBO family. He went on to praise Game of Thrones for being “one of the most groundbreaking series on television.” He shared that he feels extremely privileged to be able “to make music every day,” and he is “grateful” to be making music for an “amazing show” such as Game of Thrones.

“The Game of Thrones Live Concert Experience,” which features Ramin Djawadi is back in North America. He leads the orchestra and the choir performs music from all seven seasons of the HBO series. This tour is produced and promoted by Live Nation, in partnership with HBO Licensing and Retail.

On October 3, “The Game of Thrones Live Concert Experience” will take place at the World’s Most Famous Arena, Madison Square Garden, in New York City.
