Foreigner to play rock concert in New York

Throughout their career in the music industry, Foreigner has had nine Top 10 hits and they are consistently in the Top 15 at classic rock radio stations. They have received more airplay than such musical acts as Tom Petty, Bon Jovi, Eric Clapton, Fleetwood Mac, Def Leppard, U2, Bruce Springsteen, The Who, among many others. Foreigner has had ten multi-platinum albums and sixteen Top 30 hits on the charts. They have sold in excess of 75 million albums.

Their smash single, the power-ballad “I Want to Know What Love Is,” peaked at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 charts and the Rock charts. Their hit single, “Waiting For A Girl Like You” reached No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts, for a total of 14 weeks, thus making history in Billboard magazine.

The band’s lead singer and founder, Mick Jones, have either penned or co-penned every song in their lengthy catalog (he was the sole songwriter for “I Want To Know What Love Is”); moreover, he has produced or co-produced every album.
